  • Ok, so...it's been a while since I updated.  I've kind of lost track of updating on xanga.  Ah well...  So what's going on?  Well the Fall DTS is on outreach now in Egypt, Malaysia, and Taiwan.  So it's been fun keeping up with them and hearing what is going on.  Also, the Boarders DTS has begun!!  So cool.  We have 15 students from USA, Canada, South Korea, Belgium, and Iceland.  It's a sweet crew.

As a school, we are in our second week of teaching.  Paul Hawkins is teaching on the character, nature and ways of God.  It's foundational and excellent.  The students seem to really be desiring to know God and go deep with Him.  It's so exciting to work with these students as they grow in their relationships with God.  I truly consider it a privilege to be walking with these students as they learn about God, themselves and how they relate to God.

In total other news.......the Chicago Bears won their first playoff game!  One win away from the Super Bowl, and two wins away from being the Super Bowl champs.  Man!  It's getting exciting.  DAAAAAA BEARS!

    Ok...here are some rad pics...enjoy!

  • No More Beard

Ok...so...I'm back from Barcelona.  WOW!  No words can really describe how incredible this weekend was.  It was a much needed vacation for me.  The four of us were able to just hang out and relax.  It was SOOOO nice.  We had beautiful, warm weather the whole weekend...even though it was supposed to rain.  God really blessed us a lot.

Oh...so I'm going to see Muse tonight in Geneva...heh...the party goes on, people.  I'm pretty excited.  And I no longer have a beard...after 5 months of growing, trimming, and laboring...it is no more.  Want to see pictures?  How about pictures of no beard IN Barcelona??  That's what I thought.  Enjoy.

  • Thanksgiving/Barcelona

Ok...so I keep slacking on these updates.  Sorry.  I've actually gotten a myspace( www.myspace.com/freakinbasel/ )  but I still like my xanga for blogging and pictures.  So...what's going on?  Well, we had Thanksgiving here at the base.  It was interesting.  A big 140 person family Thanksgiving, and maybe only 35% of the people were from the USA.  Of course I was in the skit...and for some reason I found myself topless in front of the whole community...by my count that is the 3rd time it's happened...weird.

Anyways...I am off to Barcelona for the weekend!!  We leave tomorrow(Friday) morning and will be there until Sunday night.  I'm SOO excited!  I am going with three wonderful, dear friends of mine.  Mr. Matt Wilson, Mr. Ryan Kee, and Ms. Liza Ryan.  We are going to rock it out in Catalunya for sure.  I'll be sure to post pictures when I get back of the Mediterranean beach, and all that good stuff.

What else?  Well, I was going to try to leave this as a surprise....but...I can't.  I'll be in Chicago for Christmas!  Yep...my amazing brother and sister-in-law blessed me with a ticket to come home for two weeks.  I get back on the 20th and leave New Year's Eve.  So...let's hang...I miss you all.  I might even try to hit up a ski trip to the meager hills of Wisconsin...   I'm so spoiled here living in the Alps.  I can see the snow capped Alps right now as I type this....ah....lovely.

Oh...and this DTS I'm staffing is ending soon, it sucks.  I will miss these kids a lot.  But at least I have the Boarders DTS starting soon.

    Ok...I don't really have many pictures...sorry.  See you post-Spain.

Have you ever seen a Native American with so much facial hair before?

  • Ok...so I've been busy.  Crazy, huh?  I feel stressed but at the same time...refreshed and relaxed.  God is doing wonderful things in my life recently.  And when I say wonderful I don't mean fun and games all the time, I mean wonderful, as in I've been challenged and stretched and had a rough time of it....but in the end God has refined me.  Yeah...THAT kind of wonderful.  Ah...God is good...no really...it's not just some cheesy overused phrase in church....GOD IS GOOD.  OH baby!

Ok...so a couple weekends ago I went to France on a whim...I climbed up Mt. Blanc in Chamonix(pronounced Sham-o-nee).  It was so nice...and the Lord paid for it all...he sent me an angel that graciously blessed the whole trip.  So...I put up a few pics of that day and when the worship team went and did a church service in Bern.  Good times.

One more thing...I dream of pow all the time!  Yep...I miss the sweet sweet powder.  I can't WAIT TO SKI!!!  AHH!!!

  • DTS 064

So...we are rolling along here in Switzerland.  DTS 064 is plowing through lectures.  Good times are being had.  31 students...20 chicas, 11 chicos.  I love it.  Though, to be honest...it's kind of tiring.  Pray for me to have the energy to connect with these students, and really disciple and impact their lives.

Ok...what else?  Hmmm....oh!  After studying spanish early on in my life and speaking it at most of the jobs I've ever had...I'm finally going to go to my first Spanish-speaking country!  woohoo!  Details of that to come...

Well...I guess that's it.  Here are some pictures of the last two week of DTS activities.
